Diabetes worsens eyesight
The project related to diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema is one of our core activities. We do not want to wait for systemic solutions that we will also support, but focus now on helping as many people with diabetes as possible. Treating retinopathy remains a challenge. Retinopathy screening is very problematic in many parts of the country. We support initiatives that improve the situation in these areas.
About the project
Starting point
Many of us take part in the coordination of the DME drug program, and we take part in scientific research on diabetic eye disease. This allows us to understand the scope of potential action that could improve the situation of people with diabetes.
Support for the patient and physician community
We dedicate training and professional scientific studies to medical staff. We provide patients with reliable information about diagnostic and treatment options. We support diabetologists, family doctors and diabetes nurses. We strive to have the greatest possible, but real, positive impact on access to the optimal course of action in the prevention and treatment of eye complications of diabetes.
Expected effect
If no patient loses their eyesight due to diabetes, we can consider the task accomplished. Early screening, modern diagnostics, optimization of personalized treatment for each patient - these are our goals.
We would like to thank Thea for supporting the project
